Lubbock Challenger Little League has been making baseball dreams come true for children and young adults with disabilities since 1989. We're part of Little League's national Challenger Division, which today includes more than 22,000 players across the country.

We believe every kid deserves the experience of putting on a uniform, stepping up to the plate, and hearing their name cheered by a crowd regardless of ability.

Today, that means 187 players across 14 teams, playing 90+ games every season, powered by more than 2,000 volunteer hours each year from buddies, coaches, and families.

How Challenger Baseball Works

Teams are organized by ability rather than age, with rosters of 10-15 players. Every player bats each inning, and the side is retired once the full roster has hit, so nobody sits out and nobody is keeping score.

Volunteer "buddies" work alongside players on the field, offering exactly as much help as each player needs, while encouraging them to field, bat, and run independently whenever possible.

Who We Are

Lubbock Challenger Little League, Inc. is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization. While we request fees to help cover costs, fee waivers are always available, and no child has ever been turned away for inability to pay.
